Masterclass Workshop 1: Aroids – care, culture & propagation.

Details: Learn about identification, why they are one of the most TRENDY plants around the world and how best to grow and propagate these incredible plants that are perfect for our local subtropical climate. Aroids include Monstera, Philodendron, Spathiphyllum, Rhaphidophora, Epipremnum and many other popular indoor and outdoor garden plants.

Participates will take home a range of cuttings and knowledge about aroids.

Masterclass Workshop 2: Skin care with common garden weeds.

Masterclass Workshop 3: Potting mix – how to make your own.

Details: What makes up a good potting mix?. Can you make your own and still have super growing plants? Yes, you can! Join Stephen in discovering the simplicity of making your own potting mix while saving money.

Masterclass Workshop 4: Terrariums for beginners.

Details: Can life exist in a sealed environment? Terrariums can be made with sealed or semi-open containers depending on the theme and plants used. Learn the tips and tricks of creating a beautiful and long-lasting terrarium.

Participants will learn how to re-create their very own indoor rainforest in a jar.

Masterclass Workshop 5: Garden design for small gardens.

Time: 9.30am – 10.30am
Details: A well designed garden adds value to your property and enjoyment to your life. Learn how to use the tools and techniques of design to improve your garden.

Participants are asked to bring along a ‘mud map’ of their garden with them to the workshop.
Participants will create their own garden sketch design based on their mud map for a small garden, balcony or courtyard.
Note: This workshop is not for a full garden design however you can learn the fundamental skills and techniques to use for the entire garden.

Masterclass Workshop 6: How to be a Plant Doctor – 101

Details: One of the most common questions on talk-back radio and in social media groups is about pests and diseases – ‘What’s wrong with my plant?’ 
Is the problem caused by a pest, disease, nutrient or environment?
Now is the time to learn the basics for plant diagnostics so you can directly play an active role in minimising pests and diseases, plus reduce pesticides in the environment.

Participants will learn how to apply a step-by-step investigative technique to identify poor plant health. 
Note: Participants are asked NOT to bring in live sick plants or insects but submit pictures on-line to [remove the spaces] which will then be forward to Annette. Annette will be supplying suitable material for the workshop. We wish to reduce any spread of pests or diseases at this event.

Masterclass Workshop 7: Propagating plants for beginners.

Details: Gardeners love to propagate plants as a way of sharing specimens with friends, increasing the number of plants already grown or simply to save money. This session is ideal for beginners and for the experienced who wish to refresh their technique for success.
