Dr Kevin Redd brings to the garden industry decades of experience in field and applied science, a PhD in molecular ecology and several successful cutting edge research projects on plant biochemistry. Having presented around the world at scientific conferences and symposia, he is equally happy onstage speaking with gardeners and plant lovers as he would be presenting on international scientific topics. He is a self-confessed plant nerd and absolutely thrives on learning about and sharing the origins, history, cultivation and diverse uses for plants.
Currently operating a boutique nursery, a productive self-sufficient food garden and a training organisation on the Sunshine Coast he grows all of his own produce – caters for a wide range of events and pops up at expos around the region, bringing a wealth of enthusiasm and penchant for edible plants. Expect some ‘hands-on’ plants on display and perhaps a tasting or two when you come to one of his talks.
An active member of the Nursery and Garden Industry of Queensland, Kevin loves not only growing plants but also sharing his passion for edible plants and culinary applications and giving daily inspiration on what to do with the wonderful produce from our subtropical gardens!
